Readkit For Mac

ReadKit was the one app that surfaced and blew everyone away. ReadKit is much more than just an RSS reader. It originally started out as a Mac app for Read Later services. With Pocket having a great (and free) app available on the Mac, ReadKit is clearly aimed at Instapaper and Readability users looking for a desktop client, or people who use Instapaper for text and Pocket for everything else and who have been looking for a unified desktop experience. At $1.99 on the App Store, I recommend checking out ReadKit.

  • ReadKit for Mac. With read-later log and RSS customer ReadKit, clients get to their most loved encourages disconnected. ReadKit bolsters Instapaper, Pocket, Readability, Pinboard, Delicious, Feedly, Fever, NewsBlur, Feedbin and Feed Wrangler.
  • Feedly, Reeder, and Safari are probably your best bets out of the 12 options considered. 'Multi-platform RSS Monica' is the primary reason people pick Feedly over the competition. This page is powered by a knowledgeable community that helps you make an informed decision.

Review Summary with Alternatives

There are a few alternatives to ReadKit, however, they are not perfect substitutes. A few of these are:

Safari:

Safari is the Mac OS's built-in browser.

The Shared Links feature enables adding RSS feeds to its sidebar.

This syncs over iCloud and is accessible in other iOS devices.

The features, however, are limited as compared to a full-fledged RSS client app.

Leaf:

Leaf is another app available in the Mac App Store.

It syncs well with Feedbin, Feedly, and other RSS apps. However, sometimes Its ads are an irritant, even in the paid version which costs $7.99.

It provides a number of fonts and themes to choose from.

Leaf also has options to share, and receive push notifications. However, it is not as versatile in features as ReadKit.

Vienna:

Vienna for MacOS is a free software.

It can sync with any other Open Reader server like BazQux, FeedHQ, InoReader and a few more.

It is a simple app with limited features.

RSS Reader:

RSS Reader costs just $1.99 and the app can be placed on the menu bar.

The icon becomes blue when there are new items. It can store multiple items in date sequence.

When you click the item it opens for preview. It is a simple RSS feed app and lacks sophisticated features.

ReadKit turns out to be a very useful RSS app for Mac. It makes for quick and easy reading management.

It offers a pleasant and effective reading experience.
